Second Career Fair Held at University “Haxhi Zeka” in Peja
Peja. In the framework of the TEMPUS project: “Strategic support on establishment and development of sustainable structures on quality assurance, international relations and student support services at the newly founded Public University Haxhi Zeka in Kosova”, a second career fair was held at the University “Haxhi Zeka” in Peja on June 8, 2016.
The fair was attended by companies which provide employment in many diverse fields such as justice, tourism, and business. Some of these companies and institutes which participated in the career fair were:
- Banka per Biznes;
- ProCredit Bank;
- Elkos Group (ETC)
- Erasmus + Office
- Hotel Dukagjini
- Post of Kosova
- Telecom of Kosovo
- German Plast
- Kosova Democratic Institute (KDI)
- OMD – Kosova Person
In his welcoming speech, the Rector of the University “Haxhi Zeka” in Peja, Prof. Assoc. Dr. Fadil Millaku thanked all the companies participating as well as the over 100 students that were present during the fair. He also expressed his wish for this event to become a University tradition and be carried on in the future.
Partners of this project, Vice-Rector and coordinator of the project from the University of Edinburgh, Prof. Dr. Tina Harrison, emphasized the importance of fair cooperation between the labor market and the university, as Prof. Dr. Denize Galvin noted patterns and practices that are carried out between businesses and the University of Alicante in Spain. Moreover, Prof. Massimo Bianchi of the University of Bologna reiterated how University fairs, which create connectivity with various organizations and institutions and provide employment and training of students, are required to develop and improve the quality of studies at UHZ.
Representing WUS Kosova, Prof. Dr. But Dedaj, informed the participants about the project in general, and the results achieved by this project, not only by the organization of two job fairs, but also due to the launch of the Quality Strategy of University “Haxhi Zeka” in Peja.
In addition, representatives of the Association of Tourism in Kosovo and the Tourism Division in the Ministry of Trade and Industry, promised students of the University of “Haxhi Zeka” that they will be welcomed to practice their knowledge in the field of tourism and hospitality, as well as potential employment for them in the future.
